People simply think that phobia which is associated with the fear of people is like the fear which appears when people have to do social situation such as public speaking or even eating in front of other people. In fact, it is social phobia and the phobia which is associated with fear of people can be triggered when someone is only accompanied by one other person. It can go to extreme case, which makes them only communicate with other people using text messaging or email. It is important to diagnose the phobia condition properly so the treatment can be taken correctly as well.

Causes and Symptoms

Those who are thinking of how to get over shyness may have this phobia,  which usually comes from the previous experience, and the fear of people phobia risk development can be increased with the previous experience. Are you the one who always thinks of the ways to not be shy?  Well, people can have this phobia when they become a violent crime victim. They can also have this phobia because of bullying or abuse experience, whether physically or emotionally. The risk can also be increased by the health condition associated with mental or neurological. Various causes can make people suffer of this phobia, but it is not necessary for finding the cause to treat the phobia. It is more important to find the symptoms as soon as possible. The simplest symptoms can be found with the sweating and shaking body when they are spending time with other people. It can be followed by the difficulty to breathe normally, racing heart pulse, and difficulty to speak. This phobia can get worse symptoms, including the worry by judging every single they do or say, difficulty to make eye contact even with close friends, sleeping trouble, and canceling upcoming events because of the stress and worry.

Other phobias can respond to various treatment methods. When the fear of people phobia problem is caught in earlier stage, there will be a therapy session for learning about the way to replace the thoughts which are full of fear to the thoughts which is full of positivity. If a stronger trigger of anxiety can be found, they need to take behavioral training, including systematic desensitization. If people are suffering of extreme anxiety phobia, they have to take therapy session much longer with the therapist for finding the progress. Anxiety can be a great problem in their lives, but as long as they are patient, persistence, and work hard, even the most extreme fear of people case can be solved.

Other than that, when thinking about  how to get over shyness,   there are still some experts who define the true meaning of self-confidence from their perspective. Famous psychologist Maslow said that the definition of anxiety  is the basic capital must be owned by all people to develop self actuality. Confidence is important because with it people will be able to understand itself. Lack of confidence in one does will hinder potential that he has.

People who do not have high confidence will always scare with all the decisions he took in his life. He knows he should do but he did not do so because of the absence of confidence in him. Absence of confidence will always make people anxious about everything in his life. Lack confidence in associate closely with the anxiety shared by all people. Introvert VS Extrovert Different Characteristics

By : Max Kalalo

introvert vs extrovert

introvert vs extrovert

There have been many studies about introvert vs extrovert personality. The studies show that the two personalities have various differences. Someone with introvert personality acts differently from those with extrovert personality. Further studies show that persons with the two personalities have different brain structures. The brain structures show different aspect of personalities between the two different persons. Introvert and extrovert persons are opposite preferences. A person’s with stronger introvert preference will be introverted and vice versa. That is why, an introvert person will have their own characteristic, and so will the extrovert one. The two characteristics are very different and show an opposite.

Introvert Person’s Characteristics

As previously mentioned, introvert vs extrovert personality is very different. An introvert person tends to focus on and enjoy the world inside him or herself. An introvert person is usually peaceful, quiet and deliberate. He or she is not interested in having social interactions either. He or she will enjoy activities which he or she can do alone without involving anyone, such as writing, thinking, reading or inventing. He or she finds social interactions draining. Here are her or his characteristics:

•             Private

•             Keeps to self

•             Internally aware

•             Fewer friends

•             Independent

•             Enjoys solitude

•             Thinks before speaking

Extrovert Person’s Characteristics

Unlike an introvert person, an extrovert person shows opposite characteristics. He or she tends to focus on and enjoy the world outside him or herself. An extrovert person is usually verbal, enthusiastic, animated and assertive. He or she enjoys social interactions as well. He or she will enjoy mostly social gatherings, such as group activities or big parties. He or she enjoys spending much time with his or her friends and will feel energized by doing social interactions. Here are an extrovert person’s characteristics:

•             Gregarious

•             Talkative

•             Has many friends

•             Expressive & enthusiastic

•             Distractible

•             Easy to approach

Who Will be Successful?

There are no exact answers to this question. An introvert person always sees an extrovert one as bossy and overbearing. On the other hand, an extrovert person sees an introvert one as shy or stuck up. In fact, shyness and introvert are quite different. An introvert person don’t really like social stimulation, while a shy person really needs social interaction but he or she is afraid of being rejected or got criticized. However, sometimes a person can be both shy and introvert. Then, who will be successful in life? Some researches show that an introvert and extrovert team will result in the best and powerful team. A team with two personalities join together will be the most successful team. For example, Steve jobs with his extrovert characteristics successfully co-found Apple Inc. with Steve Wozniac who is an introvert one.

Who is Happier?

This is a difficult question to answer. This is because the measure of happiness is different from person to person. An extrovert person feels happy when they are with his or her group of friends and do social activities. On the other hand, an introvert person feels happy when he or she is alone and does something what he or she likes such as reading or thinking. This indicates that the keys towards happiness lie in having self-acceptance, a life purpose and a social network supporter. With these keys, both introvert vs extrovert personalities can build their own happiness. Furthermore, for your reference, you can read my post about  how to get over shyness and also how to overcome shyness.

Shyness Quotes Reading

By : Max Kalalo

shyness quotes

shyness quotes

Instead of comprehending long, boring scientific journals on shyness problems, some people enjoy looking through shyness quotes. Quotes are short to skim, saving people from getting bored with studying serious psychological articles. Unfortunately, anyone out there could write their own version of quotes on shyness, which generally comes from their personal experience and perspective. Still, quotes from reputable experts are available too, setting off the trashy quotes.

Being Shy In Proportion

Apart from the quality of quotes talking about shyness, feeling shy occasionally is normal, really. However, some people feel shy almost most of their times. Not only adult, lots of  kids also experience what we call shyness in children. The feeling, in fact, prevents these people from reaching out how they feel to specialists. Here is how someone felt about his or her shy feeling, back then:

“I stocked up wrong images in my head, sat myself before them, and did not have the guts to call for the truth. I was in my web of reserve and shyness.”

It takes time and courage, indeed, to deal with shyness, in any forms of its presence. Somehow, shyness has anything to do with self-esteem and confidence, as some people share their quotes here.

  • “Our feelings and thoughts about ourselves and our self-esteem influence our shyness.”
  • “When a child grows with encouragement, he or she learns confidence.”

Bye-Bye Shyness

Shyness is just a natural feeling every single person on earth is familiar with. As a quote says, shyness is an inborn modesty that is supposed to help everybody live with each other in harmony. Therefore, denying the feeling is not a good idea since people could be bluntly rude and shameless to each other. Now, it is important to switch the perspective that shyness should not be something holding back a person from his or her achievement. All everyone needs to do is set the feeling aside, let the perspiration and pride come first. Stemming from the understanding that shyness is related to self-esteem and confidence, it is important for everyone to have a good picture on his or her own self-image. Of course, no one could change the unfortunate childhood environment, when encouragement was less available, but it never be too late to build a good self-image. In addition to setting aside the shy feeling, someone needs to change his or her way of thinking. Only then, he or she could do something, such as greet, smile, make small talks, give compliments, etc. Anyway, shyness is not something too big and complicated to deal with.

Thinking about  how to deal with social anxiety, here are several quotes on what people think about shyness.

  • “Shyness is just the outcome of inferiority. I never want to offend, just my own natural awkwardness keeps me back. If only I could tell myself that all my manners are graceful and perfectly easy, I do not need to be shy.”
  • “She wishes she had all the guts, coming closer to him to say hello, or perhaps breaking his legs. She is just not sure which.”
  • “Sometimes people confuse with shyness or coldness, silence or indifference.”
  • “Shy people notice everything around, but they do not actually get noticed.” Hence, stop unnecessarily skimming on shyness quotes right now, flow out instead, okay?
